UNEMPLOYMENT

Reaction:

My opinion in the economic issue in the Philippines which is "Unemployment" is that

when the economy is not doing well, businesses tend to layoff workers which causes

more people to be unemployed. When people are unemployed, their spending habits

change and they tend to pay only necessary bills and not spend money on things that

are not absolutely necessary. I have realized that our country have not yet really

develop unlike other Asian countries. Although we can say its changing and

developing but still its not enough. Philippines is rich in natural resources which can

develop a country that's why foreign countries envy this land with its natural features

but the question is, what will you do to a rich land when it is misgoverned?

Research shows that Philippines is considered as one of the most high in

unemployment rate in Asia. Without strong manufacturing industry, the economy

cannot create any enough decent job. Though the Aquino administration raised the

minimum wage, still its not enough for a worker to buy his needs. Philippines has a

growing population and millions need jobs to supply their daily needs and only a few

can provide those jobs and I think one of the reason why there are many unemployed

is because of their educational attainment. It is really hard to find jobs when you didn't

graduate in a particular course. Most in-demand jobs require high qualifications

and high educational attainment. Even being a sales man requires at least 1-2 years

in college. We are facing a competitive world now and reaching norms of development

is a must. Thus, one way to uplift the unemployment rate of the country is a high

educational attainment.
